Confined Space Rescue

Confined space rescue can vary, depending on the level of risk.  It can include self-rescue, using an early warning system or escape breathing apparatus, non-entry rescue, using a mechanical lifting device to extract a worker, or a breathing apparatus rescue, where a specific hazard has been identified.

We offer CTSL certification on Confined Space Rescue.

Confined Space Rescue

The aim of this course is to provide delegates with the knowledge and practical skills needed to safely enter a confined space, as part of a confined space rescue team.  Delegates attending this course should already hold certification in High Risk Confined Spaces (including escape sets and breathing apparatus).  This course includes theory and practical elements, with tests being conducted on each.

The duration of the course depends on the experience level of the delegates attending.  Typically, these are:

  • 3 Day – Novice Course (for delegates who attended High Risk Confined Spaces with another provider)
  • 2 Day – Novice Course (for delegates who attended High Risk Confined Spaces with CTSL)
  • 3 Day – Refresher Course (also covers Confined Spaces, proof of previous certification is required).

Attendee Numbers

A maximum of 6 delegates can attend the novice or refresher course.

Upon successful completion of the tests, delegates will be issued with a Central Training Services Limited Theory and Practical Certificate, valid for 3 years.  A 3 Day Refresher Course is recommended every 3 years.

This course can take place at our training centre in Kirkintilloch, or at a location of your choice, subject to onsite requirements.
