Ladders and Stepladders can be a sensible and practical option for low-risk, short-duration tasks. They can be used for work at height when a risk assessment has shown that using equipment offering a higher level of fall protection is not justified or where existing workplace features cannot be altered.
We offer certification on Ladders from the following awarding body: NPORS.
NPORS Safe Use of Stepladders and Ladders (N711)
The aim of this course is to provide delegates with the knowledge and practical skills needed to safely work with Stepladders and/or Ladders. This course includes theory and practical elements, with tests being conducted on each.
The duration of the course depends on the experience level of the delegates attending. Typically, these are:
- ½ Day – Novice Course
- ½ Day – Refresher Course (to renew a Traditional NPORS Operator Card).
A maximum of 10 delegates can attend the novice or refresher course.
NPORS Operator Card (Traditional) – Valid for 3 years. To maintain their card and registration with NPORS, operators are advised to complete a ½ Day NPORS Refresher Course every 3 years.
This course can take place at our training centre in Bo’ness, West Lothian or at a location of your choice, subject to onsite requirements.
