360°  Excavator

A 360° Excavator consists of a cab which sits on an undercarriage of tracks or wheels.  As the name suggests the cab and boom can rotate through 360°.  It is used for a range of tasks such as digging trenches and holes, material handling, construction and general grading/landscaping. We offer certification on the 360° Excavator from the following awarding bodies: CPCS, NPORS.

We accept SDS Individual Training Account (ITA) funding for this course.

CPCS Excavator 360°– below 10 tonnes (A58) or above 10 tonnes (A59)

The aim of this course is to provide delegates with the knowledge and practical skills needed to safely operate a 360° Excavator.  This course includes theory and practical elements, with tests being conducted on each.

Duration

The duration of the course depends on the experience level of the delegates attending.  Typically, these are:

  • 10 Day – Novice Course (includes CPCS Theory and Practical Tests)
  • 2 – 10 Days –
    • 1 Day CPCS Theory Test preparation (recommended for all delegates)
    • 1-8 Days practical training (depending on experience level)
    • 1 Day CPCS Theory and Practical Tests*
  • 1 Day – CPCS Theory and Practical Testing* only (no training given, experienced operators only).

* Testing may be conducted over 2 days, depending on delegate numbers.

Attendee Numbers

A maximum of 3 delegates can attend this course.

Certification

Upon successful completion of the CPCS tests, delegates will be issued with a CPCS Trained Operator Card (red), valid for 2 years (non-renewable).  Operators are required to complete a Vocational Qualification (VQ) and upgrade to a CPCS Competent Operator Card (blue).  This card is then renewed every 5 years.  Please contact us for more information.

Location

CPCS testing must be conducted at our centre in Bo’ness, West Lothian.

CPCS Excavator 360° – Endorsement C: Lifting Operations (add-on)

The aim of this course is to provide delegates with the knowledge and practical skills needed to safely carry out lifting operations using a 360° Excavator.  This course includes theory and practical elements, with tests being conducted on each.  Delegates must hold endorsement A or B (A58 or A59) before attending this course.

Duration

The duration of the course depends on the experience level of the delegates attending.  Typically, these are:

  • 2 Day – Novice Course (includes CPCS Theory and Practical Tests)
  • 1 – 2 Days –
    • 1 Day CPCS Theory Test preparation (recommended for all delegates) and practical training
    • 1 Day CPCS Theory and Practical Tests
  • 1 Day – CPCS Theory and Practical Testing only (no training given,experienced operators only).

Attendee Numbers

A maximum of 6 delegates can attend this course.

Certification

Upon successful completion of the CPCS tests, this category will be added to the delegate’s CPCS Card.

NPORS Excavator 360°(N202)

The aim of this course is to provide delegates with the knowledge and practical skills needed to safely operate a 360° Excavator.  This course includes theory and practical elements, with tests being conducted on each.

Duration

The duration of the course depends on the experience level of the delegates attending.  Typically, these are:

  • 10 Day – Novice Course
  • 2-5 Day – Experienced Worker Course (experienced but no previous certification, includes training)
  • 1 Day – Experienced Worker Tests (experienced but no previous certification, no training provided)
  • 1 Day – Refresher Course (to renew a Traditional NPORS Operator Card).

Attendee Numbers

A maximum of 3 delegates can attend the novice, experienced worker or refresher course.  A maximum of 4 delegates can attend for experienced worker tests.

Certification

NPORS Operator Card (Traditional) – Valid for 3 years.  To maintain their card and registration with NPORS, operators are advised to complete a 1 Day NPORS Refresher Course every 3 years.

NPORS CSCS Operator Card (Construction Industry) – Valid for 2 years (non-renewable).  Operators are required to complete a Vocational Qualification (VQ) and upgrade to an NPORS Competent Operator Card.  This card is then renewed every 5 years.  Please contact us for more information.

The aim of this course is to provide delegates with the knowledge and practical skills needed to safely carry out lifting operations using a 360°  Excavator.  This course includes theory and practical elements, with tests being conducted on each.  Delegates must hold NPORS Excavator 360° (N202) before attending this course.

Duration

The duration of the course depends on the experience level of the delegates attending.  Typically, these are:

  • 2 Day – Novice Course
  • 1 Day – Experienced Worker Course (experienced but no previous certification, includes training)
  • 1 Day – Experienced Worker Tests (experienced but no previous certification, no training provided)
  • 1 Day – Refresher Course (to renew a Traditional NPORS Operator Card).
