RTITB/NORS eCard and eCertificate

RTITB launched their eCard scheme on 12th July 2021, meaning materials handling equipment (MHE) operators who successfully complete an RTITB course will receive a digital ID card detailing their qualifications.  The new eCards can be downloaded and stored in Apple Wallet (Apple smartphones) or Google Play (Android smartphones). 

The eCard will include the following operator information:

• Photo
• Name
• RTITB registration number
• RTITB logo
• Accrediting Bodies Association for Workplace Transport (ABA) logo 
• ABA truck code (where applicable)
• Course title and QR code to easily verify the operator.

To ensure data security, each operator will receive two separate emails; one from Central Training Services with a web link to the eCard, and another from RTITB, with a unique verification code used to download the eCard.  Employers and operators can also be emailed digital copies of the training eCertificates.  More information on the eCard scheme can be found here.

IPAF ePAL

IPAF’s ePAL app is a new digital wallet used to store and share IPAF powered access licenses and qualifications.  It also allows operators to easily record their operating experience through the digital logbook and provides access to the latest operator safety guide or site safety guide, based on their linked licenses.

Before attending an IPAF course, all operators are required to download the IPAF ePAL app and create an account.  Upon successful completion of a course, the operators details will be added to the IPAF registration system and linked to the details entered on the app.  Once payment for the course has cleared, the license will be released and the operator will receive a notification advising them that the license can be viewed in the app.  Employers can also receive a copy of their operator’s eCard and eCertificate by email if required.  A short video, explaining the ePAL app in more detail, can be viewed here.

PASMA Digital Training Certificates

On 1st January 2022, PASMA introduced their new digital certificates.  Upon successful completion of a course, delegates and/or employers will receive a PDF version of their certificate, by email, which can be saved, printed or shared as required.

It’s a more convenient format as certificates can be shared more easily and stored more securely. It also reduces the carbon footprint of sending certificates, so it’s one more step towards PASMA’s net zero ambition.

PASMA currently still issue the printed version of the card, which will be issued by post, however, this will also become digital later in the year.

LANTRA e-card and e-certificate

On 6th September 2020, LANTRA introduced electronic certificates (e-certificates).  As well as reducing the amount of paper and plastic used to produce printed versions, e-certificates also help to ensure that:

• • certificates and skills cards will be updated and received more quickly
  • learners, employers and providers will be able to store and share certificates more easily
  • learners will no longer need a wallet full of cards as they will hold an e-card instead
  • learners will be able to view their training and assessment history and print off certificates when needed.

Upon successful completion of a LANTRA course and assessments, e-certificates will be emailed to either the delegate or their employer, depending on who booked the course.

LANTRA are also launching their new Learner Hub where learners will be able to view, print and share their e-certificates and download their e-cards onto their smartphone.
