Health, Safety and Environment Tests
The CITB Health, Safety and Environment Tests have been developed to raise standards across the construction industry. Different tests have been created to meet the needs of different trades and professions, such as operatives, supervisors, demolition and work at height.
These tests are certificated by CITB.
CITB Health, Safety and Environment Test
The CITB Health, Safety and Environment (HS&E) Test ensures workers have health, safety and environmental awareness before going to work on a site. Different tests have been developed to meet the demands of different trades and professions. The tests available are:
- Manager and Professional
- Plumbing (JIB)
- Highway works
- Specialist work at height
- Lifts and escalators
- HVACR – Heating and plumbing services
- HVACR – Pipefitting and welding
- HVACR – Ductwork
- HVACR – Refrigeration and air conditioning
- HVACR – Services and facilities maintenance
Each test lasts 45 minutes.
A maximum of 4 delegates can sit the test in a 1 hour time slot.
Upon successful completion of the test, delegates can apply for a CSCS Card. The Construction Skills Certificate Scheme (CSCS) Card provides proof that delegates have completed the relevant training / testing for the type of work they carry out. The majority of CSCS cards require a construction related qualification as well as a Health Safety & Environment Test passed within the previous 2 years. A Health, Safety & Environment Test is required by CPCS before delegates can apply for a CPCS Trained Operator Card (red) or CPCS Competent Operator Card (blue).
A Health, Safety & Environment Test is required by NPORS before construction industry delegates can apply for an NPORS CSCS Operator Card or NPORS Competent Operator Card.
This test takes place at our training centre in Bo’ness, West Lothian.
