When working in high risk confined spaces, where a specific risk or hazard has been identified, it may be a requirement to use breathing apparatus. Breathing apparatus can provide air to workers from 10 minutes to 4 hours and comes in a variety of options including open circuit, closed circuit or self-contained.
We offer CTSL certification on Breathing Apparatus.
The aim of this course is to provide delegates with the knowledge and practical skills needed to safely use breathing apparatus. This course includes theory and practical elements, with tests being conducted on each.
Delegates attending this course should hold a valid Medium Risk Confined Spaces certificate.
The duration of the course depends on the experience level of the delegates attending. Typically, these are:
- 1 Day – Novice Course
- 1 Day – Refresher Course.
A maximum of 10 delegates can attend the novice or refresher course.
Upon successful completion of the tests, delegates will be issued with a Central Training Services Limited Theory and Practical Certificate. This certificate is valid for 6 months for non-regular users and 1 year for regular users. A 1 Day Refresher Course is recommended every 6 months / 1 year. Delegates who have not used breathing apparatus for 6 months or more should attend a 1 Day Refresher Course before use.
This course can take place at our training centre in Kirkintilloch, or at a location of your choice, subject to onsite requirements.
*Delegates who have not used breathing apparatus for 6 months or more should attend a 1 Day Refresher Course before use.
